Still in remission

Great news, my PSA results from my test two days ago came back at 0.0 The cancer is still in remission even though my testosterone levels went up. Good to go for another 3 months, yippie!

It's almost time again.

For my PSA check up. There probably isn't anything to be worried about but it's my nature to think. I can't say that I feel differently so one could assume everything will be 'normal'. Then again, when I was first diagnosed, I didn't have any symptoms. December was my last shot of Lupron so the meds should be all cleared out of my system. Monday, Sept 29 is the blood test. I'll be sure to keep you posted.

A tribute to my friend

We all have those special friends who hold a nice place in our hearts. My friend Dick Ziaya passed away Tuesday August 19th and my heart has been heavy ever since. I met Dick 31 yrs ago when I was a wet behind the ears kid and he took me into his world. We spent time away from work together, hunting and spending quality time. I watched his kids grow up and Dick never invited coworkers into his personal life, he always kept them separate. So to have him invite me into his world was an honor. I'll miss my friend but I know now he's out of pain and in a special seat in the world after life on earth. RIP

Tough 24 hours

I've faced challenges head on....we all have. Not sure what I've done to deserve this type of treatment, I just don't get it. Need to find that happy place again and fast.

6 months post surgery...

And in my visit with my surgeon this week he gave. E a clean bill of health! Next appointment, 1 yr from now, cool. Last week I met with my Oncologist, Dr. Reza and the PSA came back at 0.1 and now remember, I've been off hormone meds for 6.5 months. The damn cancer is in remission and I feel great. The only bad news to report lately is that I lost my Splunk FitBit last Sunday. Not sure how it happened but oh well, I had a backup. My youngest child turns 16 on Saturday, 7/12. My oldest turns 18 on 9/12. Yeah, full on teenagers. Glad I was never like that for my parents...ha!!

PSA update

I had a visit with my oncologist this week and the PSA results came back....drum roll please.... <0.1 Woo Hoo! Nice results given that I have been off Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) for 6 months. Cancer is still in remission, great news. Dr. Reza also checked my testosterone and found it at 80ng which is unusually low but most likely it's lagging due to residual ADT lingering in my system. Check up in 3 months will give a clearer picture. Until then, it's off dreaming and fulfilling my bucket list items! Oh wait, I have this darn job thing that keeps getting in the way. Happy 4th!
